Florence (April 10, 2015)—The Board of Directors of Pee Dee Land Trust is pleased to announce Lyles Cooper Lyles has joined the organization as the new Director of Outreach and Education effective April 1, 2015.

Lyles’ professional experience spans multiple organizations in both the corporate and non-profit worlds.  Past experience includes Raines Hospitality, Florence County Economic Development Partnership/Florence County Progress, American Heart Association and Adams Outdoor Advertising.  A graduate of College of Charleston with a degree in Corporate Communications and Marketing, Lyles brings a unique mix of skills to PDLT.  Lyles is actively involved in many community organizations and currently serves on the Board of the Boys & Girls Club of the Pee Dee.  Growing up and having spent much of her childhood enjoying all the Pee Dee outdoors has to offer, she is excited about helping preserve our resources for future generations.  Lyles is married to Brandon, a Mortgage Banker in Florence, and has a son, Woods.

PDLT Executive Director David Harper said of Lyles, “she is an excellent addition to our team. So much of our success in growing a community of people across the Pee Dee who share a love of the land depends on the balance of skills and strengths that Lyles brings to the position.  We are fortunate to count her among our talented, dedicated staff. “

Lyles is succeeding Jennifer King, who had been with PDLT since 2008.  The Director of Outreach and Education is the primary administrator of PDLT’s Membership, Communications, Fundraising, Events and Education programs.   The major membership events include the Oyster Roast (Winter), Annual Picnic (late Spring), and Bountiful Brunch Benefit (Fall).
