PDLT and F.A.R.M.S. Cantaloupe and Red Potato Donation

Family Agriculture Resource Management Services (F.A.R.M.S.) showed enormous compassion for their hungry neighbors and generosity by donating over 1,500 cantaloupes and 750 lbs. of red potatoes to Harvest Hope Food Bank to aid in their ongoing summer hunger relief efforts across South Carolina.  This is enough food to feed 7,500 people.

“We are grateful for the generosity of F.A.R.M.S. and their commitment to feeding their neighbors in need,” said, Denise Holland, Harvest Hope’s CEO.  “Without partnerships with organizations like F.A.R.M.S., Harvest Hope would not be able to fulfill our mission of feeding the hungry in South Carolina.”

The fresh cantaloupes and red potatoes were immediately processed through the Harvest Hope warehouse and distributed to families across Harvest Hope’s 20 county service area who suffer from hunger this summer.

F.A.R.M.’s donation was made possible by Mr. Ivory Wilson (Wilson Farms) in partnership with the Pee Dee Land Trust, which secured a grant from the Food Lion Foundation.
